দিন সে প্রাচীন অতি প্রবীণ বিষয়ী
               তীক্ষ্ণদৃষ্টি, বস্তুরাজ্যজয়ী,
দিকে দিকে প্রসারিয়া গনিছে সম্বল আপনার।
নবীনা শ্যামলা সন্ধ্যা পরেছে জ্যোতির অলংকার
                   চিরনববধূ,
               অন্তরে সলজ্জ মধু
     অদৃশ্য ফুলের কুঞ্জে রেখেছে নিভৃতে।
          অবগুণ্ঠনের অলক্ষিতে
               তার দূর পরিচয়
                   শেষ নাহি হয়।
দিনশেষে দেখা দেয় সে আমার বিদেশিনী--
          তারে চিনি তবু নাহি চিনি।

MY HEART FEELS shy to bring to your vagrant mind
the lyric of my secret lest its meaning be missed

এ ধূসর জীবনের গোধূলি,
          ক্ষীণ তার উদাসীন স্মৃতি,
মুছে-আসা সেই ম্লান ছবিতে
          রঙ দেয় গুঞ্জনগীতি।
ফাগুনের চম্পক পরাগে
          সেই রঙ জাগে,
ঘুমভাঙা কোকিলের কূজনে
          সেই রঙ লাগে,
সেই রঙ পিয়ালের ছায়াতে
       ঢেলে দেয় পূর্ণিমাতিথি।
এই ছবি ভৈরবী-আলাপে
          দোলে মোর কম্পিত বক্ষে,
সেই ছবি সেতারের প্রলাপে
          মরীচিকা এনে দেয় চক্ষে,
বুকের লালিম-রঙে রাঙানো
          সেই ছবি স্বপ্নের অভ্রতথি।
