     খবর পেলেম কল্য,
তাঞ্জামেতে চ'ড়ে রাজা
     গাঞ্জামেতে চলল।
সময়টা তার জলদি কাটে;
পৌঁছল যেই হলদিঘাটে
   একটা ঘোড়া রইল বাকি,
        তিনটে ঘোড়া মরল।
   গরানহাটায় পৌঁছে সেটা
        মুটের ঘাড়ে চড়ল।

         চলিতে চলিতে হয় দেখা,
বিস্মৃতির পটভূমিকায়
         স্মৃতি কিছু রেখে যায় রেখা।
