বিশ্বের হৃদয়-মাঝে
      কবি আছে সে কে!
কুসুমের লেখা তার
      বারবার লেখে--
অতৃপ্ত হৃদয়ে তাহা
      বারবার মোছে,
অশান্ত প্রকাশব্যথা
      কিছুতে না ঘোচে।

যথাসাধ্য-ভালো বলে, ওগো আরো-ভালো,
কোন্‌ স্বর্গপুরী তুমি ক'রে থাকো আলো।
আরো-ভালো কেঁদে কহে, আমি থাকি হায়,
অকর্মণ্য দাম্ভিকের অক্ষম ঈর্ষায়।

I.59. sadho, yah tan thath tanvure ka
O FRIEND! THIS body is His lyre;
He tightens its strings, and draws from it the melody of Brahma.
If the strings snap and the keys slacken, then to dust must this instrument of dust return:
Kabir says: 'None but Brahma can evoke its melodies.'
